Through the Eyes of Christ
James 4:11 Brothers and sisters, don’t say anything against each other. If you criticise your brother or sister in Christ or judge them, you are criticising and judging the law they follow. And when you are judging the law, you are not a follower of the law. You have become a judge.
Most of us are quick to notice the worst in people – their flaws, their mistakes, their failures. But rarely do we stop to ask – what would happen if I chose to see their best instead?
A young physicist named Albert Einstein was labelled by teachers as slow and incapable. Some even said he’d never amount to anything. But one saw promise in him, encouraged his curiosity, gave him space to explore. That belief unlocked the genius the world would later know.
If you want to bring out the best in people, you have to be prepared to look for the best in them.

Jesus didn’t just live that out, He personified it. He looked at a corrupt tax collector and saw a disciple. He looked at a sinful woman and saw faith. He looked at a rough fisherman and saw the rock of His church. He never ignored flaws, but He inevitably saw God’s possibilities in people.
So let me ask you – who are you tearing down with criticism, maybe even silently in your heart? What if you chose instead to see them through the eyes of Jesus; to believe in what He can do in them?
Because when you humble yourself to see the best in others, you’ll all of a sudden be capable of bringing out their best. That’s the way of Christ.
